The news comes just after Marvel Studios released the first-ever teaser for Thor: Love and Thunder, which featured Natalie Portman’s inaugural appearance as Jane Foster, after stepping down from the role in 2013. The arrival of The Mighty Thor in Marvel’s Avengers confirms an earlier leak and is likely going to be the first of many collaborations between Square Enix and Marvel Studios going forward. Crystal Dynamics’ controversial Marvel-based RPG continues to chug along at a snail’s pace after failing to meet the hype at launch. It would have been nice to have seen a similar promotional push earlier in the game’s life cycle, but we supposed that Marvel’s Avengers will take what it can get these days.

The latest character to swing by was Spider-Man, but for the non-PlayStation folk, it’s been quite a while since they’ve seen a new character since Blank Panther following the War for Wakanda expansion last summer. However, you’d have to give Crystal Dynamics props for sticking to it. Even after Square Enix all but disowned the “disappointing” but ambitious endeavor, the Tomb Raider studio is still making improvements to the game for the few hundred gamers that are still playing it. Since Jane Foster’s addition all but confirms that Square Enix is working in tandem with Marvel Studios to some extent, we should expect She-Hulk to come to Marvel’s Avengers next. Speaking of Crystal Dynamics, we’re curious just how long the studio will support Marvel’s Avengers. Two years is a long time to stand by what’s been deemed as a failure. With the next Tomb Raider game already confirmed, the end for Marvel’s Avengers all feels like it’s coming any day now.
