In Update 1.23, Polyphony Digital is adding three new cars including a world record-breaking electric vehicle. The update also brings new Café Menu Book entries and several new races. The highlight of the new update is the addition of the Volkswagen ID.R ’19. The electric time attack race car beat several race track records after it debuted in 2019. Originally built to break the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb record, the VW ID.R is the current king of the track. The race car set a time of 7:57 beating the previous records by 15 seconds. The world record run was driven by Romain Dumas. Dumas also set the fastest time around the iconic Nürburgring with the ID.R for an electric vehicle. The VW ID.R also broke the records for the Goodwood Festival of Speed hill climb and Tianmen Mountain. Also coming with GT 7 Update 1.23 is the Nissan Silvia S14 Ks Type S. The “Ks” is short for “King” as the S14 variants are named after playing cards. The Type S will be the first version of the S14 in GT7. The Porsche Vision Gran Turismo Spyder will also be added to the game. The new VGT sports a monoposto or single-seat design and does not have a hardtop. The new VGT will be mechanically identical to the previous model of the concept car. The VW ID.R can be acquired for 2,000,000 credits while the Porsche VGT is priced at 1,000,000 credits. Both vehicles are already available from Brand Central. The Nissan Silvia S14 Ks Type S is currently available in the Used Car Dealer for only 60,000 credits. Three new Café Menu Book entries will be added to Gran Turismo 7. Menu Book 45 titled “The Silvia Sisters” features races using the Nissan Silvia cars namely the S13, S14, and S15. Two new Extra Menu entries in the “Collection: Corvette” and “Collection: Mid-engine Porsche” will also be added. Players will also get new races along with the Café Menu Book entries. The most notable new race will be the Tokyo World Touring Car 800 Tokyo Expressway East Clockwise and the American Clubman Cup 700 Trial Mountain Circuit. The Tokyo Expressway East is one of the most raced tracks for single-player races and is popular for grinding credits. Update 1.23 will also feature new Scapes in California II and Tokyo II. There are also various fixes for the game added with the update. The full patch notes are available on the GT7 website. The update is now live and players must install it before they can play Gran Turismo 7.
