According to Joe Miller, an errant PlayStation Store listing schedules the pre-load times for God of War Ragnarok on November 2, with the review embargo also expected to end on the same day. Pre-load means that PS4 and PS5 owners who pre-ordered a digital copy of God of War: Ragnarok can start adding the game to their library so all they have to do is to play after a small patch on November 9.

Santa Monica Studio’s decision to “reboot” the entire franchise and give it a facelift paid off dividends as the game continues to be influential to this day. In fact, EA Motive is using the same one-shot camera approach on another remake, Dead Space, which comes out on January 27 next year. Ragnarok will pick up directly after the events of God of War. Three years after Kratos and Atreus successfully scattered the ashes of Laufey, Atreus’ mother and Kratos’ second wife, it is now up to the father-and-son duo to deal with the start of the events of Ragnarok. Kratos and his son will venture through all of the nine realms in the sequel as they try to put a stop to the end of the world while also finding out the truth about Atreus, who is also a Giant known as Loki. After dealing mostly with Baldur in the first game, Kratos and Atreus will be fighting against a vengeful mother in Freya and the Norse God of Thunder, Thor. It’s also believed that the All-Father, Odin, will join Kratos’ growing list of foes for the sequel. But, Kratos will not be on his own. Aside from Atreus and Mimir, Kratos will also seek the assistance of Tyr, the Norse God of War, among others. Overall, fans have every right to be excited for what’s to come on November 9. In the meantime, PlayStation owners can keep themselves busy with the PS Plus Essential lineup for next month.
