What is the Perk System in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare?
Perks are a part of the create-a-class system in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Essentially, you have three perk slots and you can assign one perk per slot from the respective perk tree. Perk 1 focuses on speed, with perks that let you use Tactical Sprint for longer, resupply ammo from dead enemies, or move faster while crouching. Perk 2 focuses on killstreaks and buffs gained from killstreaks. Perk 3 focuses on tech, with perks that grant extra equipment, charge your equipment faster, and so on. You can assign a perk only in its respective slot. Which means you can have just one perk from each category.
What is the Tracker Perk?
Tracker is a perk from the tech tree. If you’ve got Tracker enabled, enemies leave behind a footprint trail. You can see markers at enemy death locations and hide the death marks of enemies you kill. The enemy trail will last longer if they were running, as compared to walking or crouching. It’s a powerful perk that can grant you an upper hand on the battlefield. The only real competitor of the Tracker perk is spotter, another perk in the same tree. Spotter enables you to see enemy equipment, field upgrades, and killstreaks through walls and mark them for your team by looking at them while aiming down sights. Both Tracker and spotter require high levels to unlock, 51 and 38 respectively. So you’ll need to grind before you can unlock any of them. Unfortunately, since they’re both in the same perk tree, you can’t have both of them equipped at once.
Recommended Tracker Build
Tracker is a perk that inherently works best for stealth build. Enemies leave a trail behind them, which you can sneakily follow and then strike them down when they least expect it. Hence, it works best with Cold-Blooded and Ghost perks in slot 1 and 2 respectively. Perk 1: Cold Blooded- Undetectable by AI targeting system and thermal optics. Immune to snapshot grenades. Perk 2: Ghost- Undetectable by UAVs, Radar Drones, Heartbeat Sensors, and High Alert. Hide the death markers of enemies you kill. Perk 3: Tracker- Enemies leave behind a footprint trail. See markers at enemy death locations and hide the death marks of enemies you kill. Cold-blooded and Ghost perks will help you stay hidden, while Tracker will help you hunt. For a full-fledged stealth build, equip suppressed weapons to make yourself virtually invisible to the enemy radar.
