In addition to this, Bungie is making downloadable content (DLCs) such as The Witch Queen and Beyond Light available to players across all platforms for free. Destiny 2 is a massively multi-player online first-person shooter game developed by Bungie and initially released as a pay to play game for PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox One in 2017. However, Bungie switched to a free to play model in 2019 and Destiny 2 has operated in this format since then. During its acquisition by Sony, Bungie announced it will continue to provide support for the game on its current platforms. It also announced that Destiny 2 would be expanded to other platforms. Alongside Destiny 2’s addition to the platform, Bungie and Epic Games Store also announced a crossover with Fortnite. A few days ago, we reported that a dataminer leaked this collaboration. The crossover will see a new game mode added to Fortnite, skins, maps, Celebration emotes, and more. Furthermore, the two companies announced an upcoming Destiny 2 and Fall Guys crossover. While the crossover content is not available at the moment, it will be released on September 17. The event will see Fall Guys fans able to customize their characters’ costumes based on the three Destiny 2 classes – Hunter, Titan, and Warlock. They will also be able to access new accessories and a new Celebration titled “Spicy Ramen”. In early 2023, Bungie will release a new chapter, Lightfall, as Destiny 2’s penultimate chapter in the Light and Dark saga. The developer will follow this with the saga’s final chapter, The Final Shape, sometime in 2024. Destiny 2 is available on Stadia, PlayStation, PC, and Xbox. At the moment, it is not available on Nintendo Switch. However, that has not stopped fans from hoping Bungie will release a version for the console someday.
