With that said, the fandom might want to prepare to shell out money for a gaming PC and/or an Xbox Series S/X once The Elder Scrolls 6 is available. According to recent reports, the plan is to release TES 6 as an Xbox exclusive.
Is The Elder Scrolls 6 going to be exclusive to the Xbox?
It’s no secret that Sony has more exclusives compared to Microsoft. It’s been that way for decades. Right now, the Xbox Series S/X has Microsoft Flight Simulator as the only enviable exclusive for its platform. On the other hand, the PlayStation 5 has Demon’s Souls, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Returnal, among others. The good news is that Microsoft has announced a list of Xbox exclusive titles, along with other multi-platform games, that are also going to be a part of the Xbox Game Pass at launch. It also appears that Microsoft has another trick up its sleeve.
— Jeff Grubb (@JeffGrubb) August 30, 2021 Jeff Grub has heard that The Elder Scrolls 6 is only coming to the Xbox Series S/X, just like Starfield, an “unfortunate” turn of events that Bethesda actually apologized for. While disappointing, we can’t exactly say that we are shocked. If anything, gamers should have expected this. After Microsoft formally acquired Bethesda earlier this year (with talks starting in 2020), audiences knew that things were going to change. Although fans were hoping that Microsoft wouldn’t make The Elder Scrolls 6 an exclusive, you can’t exactly blame them for taking advantage of the investment. Of course, there is no official announcement from either Bethesda or Microsoft yet. The closest thing to official word is from Todd Howard, who claimed earlier this year that Elder Scrolls 6 is still in its design phase. However, if you already own a PlayStation 5 or you’re planning to get one as soon as stocks permit, we recommend preparing for the inevitable. One way around this is to get yourself a capable gaming PC or an Xbox Series S/X. Another alternative is to just keep on playing Skyrim, which is set to get yet another new edition later this year.
